Buttery Coffee

Have you ever wondered why after drinking your morning coffee you feel alert for a short while but then your energy levels quickly dip down again? That’s because cheap coffee steals your mental edge and makes you weak, but clean coffee is actually healthy, and gives you important antioxidants. That’s why it’s important to drink raw good quality coffee. And don’t even get me started on those easy to use 3 in 1 coffee sachets which are full of crap and do you no good whatsoever!!

So what’s this hype about adding butter to your morning coffee all about? Well grass-fed butter is much healthier than other butter. It doesn’t worsen cholesterol levels, it actually optimizes them! Starting your day with grass-fed butter will give you lots of energy and will give your body healthy fats. Your body uses healthy fats to make cell walls and hormones. The butter and coconut oil in your coffee will also keep you full for longer. Having said that, I wouldn’t recommend having too much fat first thing in the morning so don’t go overboard with the amounts of butter or coconut oil.

Ingredients: 12 oz hot brewed raw coffee. 1 tbsp coconut oil. 1 tbsp grass-fed unsalted butter. 1.5 tsp raw cacao. I buy raw coffee from the RAW Coffee Company and raw cacao can be found in the Ripe Farm Shop.

I used a Chemex to make my coffee. Some people may prefer a French press. Put all the ingredients together in a blender and blend. The result? A creamy satisfying delicious cup of coffee which will sustain your energy levels for longer!
